Real Time SEPTA is the most beautifully designed app for regular users of Philadelphias regional rail system. It is built with the traveler in mind, distilling functionality into three main features:
***Next Train***
When you open the app, Real Time SEPTA automatically figures out what station you are at based on your location and tells you when the next trains will arrive.
***Real Time Map***
The real time map is an interactive display of the SEPTA map, showing the nearest SEPTA stations and where SEPTA trains are in real time. A classic map is conveniently included to aid in trip planning.
***Alerts***
When there are problems on the regional rail system, youll know instantly where and what those issues are.
Note that real time update frequency is restricted to SEPTAs discretion, usually about a minute between updates. A separate app may be released in the future for the subway lines (Market-Frankford, Broad Street, Trolleys) depending on demand.
